At Tiverton we provide a broad and balanced physical education curriculum to increase pupils’ self-confidence in their ability to manage themselves and their bodies, within a variety of movement situations. PE is taught in accordance with the New Curriculum (NC) and Early Years Foundation Stage Guidance (EYFS), which takes account of individual interests and needs.

In the Early Years Foundation Stage we plan activities that offer appropriate physical challenges, provide sufficient space indoors and outdoors.

In Key Stage 1, pupils are taught knowledge skills and understanding through motor-skills, dance, gymnastics and games activities.

In Key stage 2 pupils have access to all components of the National Curriculum Programme of Study. This includes Athletics, Dance, Games, Gymnastics, Outdoor Education and Swimming.

Out of School Hours Learning.

We offer a range of before and after school sports clubs: Football, basketball, cricket’, gymnastics and ballet. These clubs are run by coaches and experienced staff members.
